About The Vitrine

A cabinet of curiosities, catalogued. Each object with its plate, its provenance, its story.

The catalogue principle

The Vitrine treats a personal collection the way a small museum treats its holdings: nothing displayed without a label, nothing acquired without provenance, nothing described in language the visitor needs a degree to parse. This journal is the catalogue — the long-form companion to the cases — written for collectors, the merely curious, and anyone who believes an object earns its glass.

What we stand for

Look longer

The first glance is never the entry. Every object gets a second hour before it gets a label.

Provenance matters

Where a thing has been is half of what it is. We record the chain.

Beauty in the label

A good caption is a small essay. We write ours to be read, not skipped.
